Foxes- Ghana
For our 2024 International Multicultural Arts Week, Foxes immersed themselves in learning all about Ghana in Western Africa. We enjoyed reading a story set in Ghana, 'Catch that Chicken!', finding out all about Ghana and writing Fact files and looking at acrostic poems about Africa. Foxes also created some beautiful Kente cloth weavings, had a go at some African dance moves and learnt a song from Ghana, 'Kye Kye Kule'. What a fantastic week!
Badger Class - Hong Kong
We started the week by having a virtual walking tour around the streets of Hong Kong. We couldn't believe the size of the skyscrapers and how many people were walking around. We really enjoyed watching the light show at Victoria Harbour.
We have learnt that people in Hong Kong speak English and Cantonese. We have learnt to say hello and count to five in Cantonese. Mrs Burton brought in some Chinese writing scrolls and we have enjoyed having a go at copying some Cantonese symbols.
The national flower for Hong Kong is the Bauhinia. We looked closely at images of these and created some observational drawings of this beautiful flower using oil pastels.
We finished the week by learning some Thai Chi which helped us to relax and unwind after a very busy week!
