Internet Safety Day 2025

Tuesday 11th February was Internet Safety Day.  In school, we did a variety of activities to remind ourselves how to stay safe online.  In assembly, we discussed what to do if someone asks us for personal information or if you are playing a game and you hear language that you don’t like.  We learned the rhyme:

“Before you tap and click, you need to stop and think and tell someone.”

We talked about who our trusted adults are and how important it is to tell someone if you see something online that you don’t like.

In our classes, we talked about other scenarios where Smartie needed to tell his trusted adult if something happened.  We also coloured Smartie the Penguin pictures and did role play to teach each other how to stay safe.

Well done to all of the children who made an Internet Safety poster as part of your homework.  We used these in school to teach other children about how to stay safe online.

If you would like to talk to your child further about internet safety, these resources below are really useful.  The child net website has more Smartie the Penguin stories to share with your child.
