National Schools Sports Week 2024
This week was National School Sports Week.To celebrate this we enjoyed sports every day and experienced activities we may not have even tried before !
MONDAY started with an international athlete called Joe Ferguson giving us an inspirational talk during assembly. We got the opportunity to ask questions and to look at his medals.
Joe is a TEAM GB sprinter and is the fastest Yorkshireman in history and is hoping to qualify to represent for the next Olympics.
Squirrels loved having a PE session with him and being shown lots of running skills to become a great athlete; just like JOE.
TUESDAY
Skipping is a challenging skill and we had to use our perseverance and Big Brain Bill to keep practicing. First we used a hoop and then we had a go with a skipping rope. We had to focus and really think about how to move our bodies and arms.
Great job Squirrels!
WEDNESDAY
Tiff Richardson is a 4th Degree Black Belt and a Worksop School Director & Head Instructor of the ACMAC. She is a Full Instructor and a Black Belt in MSMA & Kick Boxing as well as 17x World, 10x European/International & 32x National Champion.
We were very lucky to have Tiff come along to our school and show us some basic kick boxing moves. We started with a warm up and then got into it pretty quick. Everyone then had a partner to use the pads to practice on and we worked on set positions finishing with a bow.
Just look at those faces!! They show determination, power, energy and most of all enjoyment.
Well done Squirrels .
Well done !
