National Storytelling Week 2024
National Storytelling Week 2024 takes place from 27th January to 4th February.
What is National Storytelling Week?
National Storytelling Week happens yearly in January. National Storytelling Week is a week for celebrating storytelling and encouraging people to tell their own stories.
Storytelling is vitally important to our children and their development, whether these stories are read from books, or relayed orally. Storytelling helps our children's imaginations to grow, can teach them lessons and can give them opportunities for their future.
We will be marking National Storytelling Week by encouraging the children to tell their own stories. Their stories could be as simple as what they had for lunch; or more imaginative, for instance telling us what they would see if they were an astronaut. Storytelling is a great skill to develop, allowing children to use their imaginations and develop their communication skills.
